About this product

Curated Château Margaux with provenance from Burgdy.

A brilliant offering from the Mentzelopoulos family, once again their gifted manager, Paul Pontallier, has produced an uncommonly concentrated, powerful 2009 Chateau Margaux. Abundant blueberry, cassis and acacia flower as well as hints of charcoal and forest floor aromas that are almost Burgundian in their complexity are followed by a wine displaying sweet, well-integrated tannins as well as a certain ethereal lightness despite the wine's overall size. Rich, round, generous and unusually approachable for such a young Margaux, this should drink well for 30-35+ years. RP

Opened the Château Margaux after a short decant. For us, Was looking quite forward to this since my last bottle was outstanding.

Opened the Château Margaux after a short decant. The fruit was seamlessly integrated with an elegant bouquet of tertiary characteristics - the kind of mature complexity that only great aged Bordeaux can provide. Every layer felt polished and complete, with nothing sticking out and everything working in harmony.

Order shipped fast — label and fill level looked right. In 5-10 years this should be singing 2 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1).

Bottle showed up well packed and cold. I found Not sure if it was in a weird spot or just mouton was honestly shining. I thought it had a little funk on it that blew off quickly.
